12/06/10 - Exclusive: Rampage Jackson responds to The Game, offers battle

The Game has had no shortage of feuds with fellow hip-hop stars, most notably a long-running battle with 50 Cent, but feuding is par for the course in the rap game and is as much about selling records as it is about actual personal disagreements.

But he may find himself having to back his latest outburst up with more than a quick freestyle diss should he bump into Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson any time soon. Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jackson, who was also the first fighter to unify the UFC and PRIDE FC title belts, was a target of The Game in a recent interview and has now challenged The Game to back his words up.

Yesterday The Game told AllHipHop.com that Jackson “couldn't  fuck with me. No disrespect to Rampage, but my dude Rashad Evans whupped that ass. When he had that UFC fight against Rashad Evans and he lost, I felt like that was me [winning].

“'Don't you know nigga? I play Mr. T (A-Team character 'B.A. Baracus') better than you! I pity the fool!' I went in [to the audition] and I killed the Mr. T role on my screen test."

The Game - real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor - was taking a swipe at Jackson because the UFC star beat him to a role he badly wanted. The Game tried out for the role of BA Baracus and claims the only reason he did not get it was because he went on a European tour and was going to be unavailable for some time.

“They were going to have to fly a trainer overseas to get me right,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “They didn't want to do that and Rampage was available so they went with him. I ain't looking forward to seeing Rampage as Mr. T. Maybe now they can redo it and put Rashad in there. After you get your ass kicked, I don't know if you can play Mr. T."

Jackson was first alerted to The Game’s comments via fans on Twitter. He phoned Fighters Only this evening to offer his response.

“You can tell The Game this: if he wants to battle me, I can battle him. Here’s what we can do - we can do a freestyle [rap] battle against each other , see who wins. Then we can act off against each other, see who wins. Then he can get in the motherfuckin’ cage with me and we’ll see who wins. For real, tell The Game I said that, I am for real. I will step in his world if he will step in mine,” Jackson told Fighters Only.

“I didn’t see his screen test but I can tell you what is wrong with what he said - I didn’t play Mr T, I played BA Baracus! If he wants to play Mr T. he can play Mr. T. I want all my fans and all the MMA fans to go and watch this A-Team movie and then they can tell him too: I don’t play Mr T. I am BA Baracus!”

“When they do a movie about Mr T’s life story, let The Game do it! He can go round saying ‘I pity the fool’ and put his gold chains on and act like Mr T. He is a totally different person to BA Baracus. Mr T played BA Baracus and made him so famous and popular that people got the two confused. They think BA Baracus is Mr T.”

Jackson added that if The Game “went in there and tried to play at being Mr T people would be talking shit about him. People can’t be Mr T - certainly The Game can’t, he can’t be Mr. T!”

The A-Team movie hit theaters yesterday and Jackson expressed a hope that it will bring even more recognition to the sport of MMA. He also hopes that MMA fans will go and see the film if for no other reason than to support him and thus “support the sport”.

“I want all the MMA fans to go and support this movie - go and watch it twice! Support it. The director is a big MMA fan, diehard MMA fan and you know how it is, MMA is like one big family and the director is one of us, believe me,“ Jackson enthused.

“The more people go and see this movie the more people who don’t know about MMA are going to learn about it and get into it, just like all the guys on the cast did. I am excited about it, this movie will be good for the sport, believe me. I really do hope the MMA fans support it.”
