18/03/10 - Varner: "CB Dolloway is a bitch!"
Jamie Varner has invited former team mate CB Dolloway to meet him in the gym today and is apparently looking to settle their differences the old fashioned way. Dolloway was one of three UFC fighters (Ryan Bader and Aaron Simpson were the other two) who left Arizona Combat Sports - and Varner - earlier this month.
Varner reacted to their departure by describing it as a mistake and pointing to the career downturn that other fighters who left Arizona Combat Sports had suffered. Late last night he sent Dolloway a text message inviting him to meet up - and not for a coffee.
“If ur a man meet me at the gym at 3:30 tomorrow,” the text message read. A short time later, Varner hit Twitter to post two messages: “CB. Dolloway is a bitch!” and then “CB is a coward [and] you’ll see tomorrow.”
The latter message was accompanied by a link to a photo of Varner’s phone displaying the text message sent to Dolloway earlier in the day. Dolloway has yet to respond. The last update on his Twitter account was a post about going for a beer to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Varner is the former WEC lightweight champion and has also competed in the UFC, where he went 1-1. He is 4-1 in the WEC with his sole loss in the organisation being to Ben Henderson, who became the new WEC lightweight champion as a result of the win.
