01/03/10 - Michael Bisping vs Dan Miller at UFC 114
Britain’s Michael Bipsing will face Dan Miller in a middleweight matchup at UFC 114, it has been reported. The fight has received verbal agreement from one of the parties involved, according to MMA Junkie.
Fighters Only has since been able to establish with a source close to the situation that the fight is in the works. Bout agreements have not yet been issued for the fight but are expected to have been sent out and completed by the end of next week.
Both Bisping and Miller are coming off losses, making the meeting a crucial one for each of them - especially for Miller, who has lost his last two consecutively. Bisping is 1-1 in his last two, after stopping Denis Kang at UFC 105 but then losing a decision to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110.
Bisping was unhappy with the decision and feels it should have gone his way, but the judges felt otherwise and he got the L on his record for only the third time in his professional career. But even his staunchest detractor had to admit that Bisping was not blown away by Silva, has many had predicted he would be.
Miller’s two recent losses have also been by decision. He was ground out by Chael Sonnen at UFC 98 and Demian Maia proved a surprise at UFC 109 by beating him on the feet for the most part, an area that BJJ expert Maia is not renowned in.
UFC 114 takes place in las Vegas, Nevada on May 29th. Bisping’s team mate Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is also due to fight on that card in a long-awaited clash with his bitter rival and fellow former light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.
