21/01/10 - Etim v Dos Anjos at UFC 112, Pearson faces Siver

Rafael Dos Anjos will be fighting Terry Etim in a lightweight clash on the preliminary card of UFC 112, Fighters Only has learned from a source in Brazil. Bout agreements have been sent out and are due to be returned this week.

Dos Anjos is 13-4 and on a two-fight win streak. He competed at UFC Fight Night 20 last week and put in a solid performance to take a unanimous decision win over Kyle Bradley. Prior to that he defeated Rob Emerson, also by decision. But his preceding two fights were losses, putting him 2-2 in the UFC.

Etim is on a four-fight winning streak that includes three stoppages inside the distance. In his last outing he submitted Shannon Gugerty with a guillotine choke at UFC 105, and prior to that was able to sink in a D’Arce choke on Justin Bucholz in what was one of the comeback moments of the year.

Last week we reported that Etim would be facing German lightweight Denis Siver. The German source who told us that was correct that Siver would be facing a British fighter next, but wrongly identified the opponent as Etim.

Last night the source got back to us and said Siver’s opponent will actually be UK lightweight Ross Pearson of TUF 9 fame, who is coming off a hugely impressive win over Aaron Riley at UFC 105. The fight is apparently being lined up for the March 29th  Fight Night event which will take place in North Carolina.
