21/11/09 - Patrick Cote calling for Bisping fight

Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote says he wants his next fight to be against British middleweight Michael Bisping. Cote has not fought since October last year, when he challenged Anderson Silva for the middleweight belt at UFC 90.

He suffered a torn ACL in the third round of the fight and was forced to take a lengthy absence from competition in order to recuperate. He is now back working with Marc Dellagrotte at Sityodtong, preparing for a return to the cage.

“Next fight in 5 months !! Who I want a fight for my comeback ?? _I_PI_G…” he wrote on his Facebook account today. But Bisping may be in action before then. He is keen on a match with Wanderlei Silva and UFC president Dana White has hinted that Silva may not be fighting Yoshihiro Akiyama in Australia, as was originally planned.

Prior to facing Anderson, Cote was unbeaten in five fights and has a 13-5 record overall. Bisping is 18-2 since beating Kang.
