13/11/09 - Sean Sherk returns at UFC 108
Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk says he is fighting recent UFC arrival Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 108 in January.
“I’m fighting January 2 against Rafaello Oliveira,” Sherk WICombatSports.com. “I haven’t studied him yet, but I know he has fought my training partner Nick Lentz in Dallas. Lentz beat him, and he’s been able to give me some good advice on him.”
He was originally due to face Gleison Tibau at UFC 104 but suffered a partial separation of his shoulder in training and was forced to withdraw. Sherk has fought just once this year, a decision loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC 98.
UFC 108 is scheduled to take place on January 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be headlined by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and undefeated heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez.
