09/09/09 - Taylor v Hathaway at UFC 105
Paul Taylor is set to meet fellow Brit Jon Hathaway in a welterweight match at UFC 105, Fighters Only has learned.
A UK source tells us that the two are being lined up for the card and that both have verbally agreed to the bout.
Aside from establishing the domestic welterweight pecking order, the fight also serves as something of a clash of styles, with Taylor excelling at kickboxing and Hathaway bringing strong clinch and wrestling skills.
Both fighters will go into the bout off wins at UFC 99. Taylor scored a TKO win over Peter Sobotta, while Hathaway secured a unanimous decision win over Rick Story.
Taylor (10-4-1) has become well-known to UFC fans since debuting for the organisation in 2007 and his high octane, forward-pressure style has made him a three-time Fight of the Night winner.
Hathaway (11-0) has put in two solid performances since joining the UFC. His January debut was a first-round stoppage win over Tom Egan in Dublin.
Fighters Only has also learned that Nick Osipczak, who appeared on season nine of The Ultimate Fighter, is also scheduled to appear at UFC 105.
The London-born fighter (his surname is Polish) will be on the undercard, but there is no news on his opponent yet.
