24/08/09 - Bisping tells Kang: "I look forward to meeting you in Manchester."

Michael Bisping (18-2) has dropped strong hints that he is indeed facing Canadian middleweight Denis Kang at UFC 105 later this year.

"I may possibly be fighting Denis Kang at UFC 105," Bisping, who is currently holidaying in Thailand, wrote on his personal website Bisping.tv.

The fight is not signed and no official word has been given by the UFC, but Bisping added: “"If you're reading this Denis, good luck in training and I look forward to meeting you in Manchester."

The British fighter, who won TUF3 as a contestant and TUF 9 as a coach, describes Denis as “a very experienced fighter who has fought and beat some of the top names in the sport”.

“I'm sure it would make for an exiting fight and we can make it a night to remember for the fans in Manchester.”

Bisping‘s willingness to talk about the all-but-confirmed match is in stark contrast to Kang‘s response to enquiries. "No fights are confirmed yet. Stop emailing me," he instructed curious fans via his Twitter account.

The fight would be crucial to both men’s careers with the UFC. Bisping faces the prospect of losing two consecutive fights for the first time in his career, while Kang arrived in January amidst a blaze of hype that saw some fans bill him as the man to topple Anderson Silva.

But he lost by submission at his UFC 93 debut against Alan Belcher and next won a decision against durable but limited Frenchman Xavier Foupa-Pokam. Kang needs to impress and get a big win in the UFC if he is to realise the ambitions his fans have for him.
