21/08/09 - Kang offered fight with Bisping at UFC 105

Denis Kang has been offered a fight with Michael Bisping at UFC 105, Fighters Only has been able to confirm.

A reputable Canadian source contacted on Friday evening (British time) confirmed that the bout was in the works.

“Denis has been offered the fight so I presume Michael has as well,” the source said. “Nothing has been signed yet but yes, that is the fight that has been offered.”

At 32-11-1, Kang is an experienced competitor with Pride, Dream, K-1 and UFC appearances under his belt.

He joined the UFC in January this year but lost on his debut to Alan Belcher at UFC 93, falling into a guillotine despite having dominated for two rounds. His next fight was a unanimous decision win over Xavier Foupa-Pokam.

Bisping is coming off a KO loss to TUF 9 rival coach Dan Henderson at UFC 100, the first stoppage defeat of his career. The loss derailed his title shot hopes and took his record to 17-2.

The fight with Kang is widely expected to headline UFC 105, which takes place in Manchester, England on Saturday November 14th, but Fighters Only understands that this is not necessarily the case.

Rumours have reached our ears of a high-profile match-up being discussed to headline UFC 105, but nothing has yet been signed.
