20/08/09 - Exclusive: Paul Kelly v Dennis Siver at UFC 105
Wolfslair lightweight Paul Kelly is to be matched with German lightweight Dennis Siver at UFC 105, Fighters Only has been told.
A German source informed us on Thursday morning that the two have verbally agreed to the fight although bout agreements are yet to be completed.
Kelly is 9-1 in his professional MMA career and is 3-1 in the UFC. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak that consists of consecutive unanimous decision wins over Troy Mandaloniz and Roli Delagdo.
The fight with Delgado at UFC 99 was Kelly’s first fight in the lightweight division. He previously operated at welterweight but felt small for the division
Siver (14-6) is a German citizen of Russian heritage and also fought on the UFC 99 card that Paul Kelly appeared on, scoring a first-round submission win over Dale Hartt.
Prior to that he delivered a fight-ending spinning back kick to Nate Mohr at UFC 93, taking his UFC record to 3-3.
Siver is on his second stint in the UFC, having made his debut at UFC 70 with a loss to Jess Liaudin. He won his next fight, but lost the two after that (Gray Maynard and Melvin Guillard respectively.)
He is often described as a kick boxer but 8 of his 14 wins have come by submission and four by KO, marking him out as a dangerous all-rounder.
