11/08/09 - Dana White ceases UFC video blogs

Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White says he will no longer be making video blogs behind the scenes at UFC events.

And yesterday the entire back-catalogue of video blogs that was stored on the UFC’s Youtube channel was removed.

"I made the decision not to do the blogs anymore. I am the one that took them down," White said on Tuesday. "They were fun while they lasted, and thanks to everyone for the support."

The news comes as a surprise given that White did not cease producing the blogs even after his Youtube rant against Loretta Hunt caused such controversy.

However, the UFC is known to be working on a behind-the-scenes show with major network HBO, with a working title of ‘Outside the Octagon’.

It is possible that it was felt there is too much crossover between the video blogs and the television show, in which case ceasing the blogs makes sense.

White started producing video blogs at UFC 90 and they were extremely popular with fans around the world. The blogs had also recently started featuring WEC content.
