20/11/08 - Hendricks confirms he is cut by UFC
Josh Hendricks, who made his debut in the UFC at last weekend’s event that was headlined by Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar, has been dropped by the organisation.
He confirmed the news in a call with Fighters Only earlier this evening.
The UFC "didn’t have a whole lot to say. They are going to get back to me in the next couple of months and we will see what happens," he said.
Hendricks (15-6) added that he had been affected by “jitters in his first UFC fight”.
"The crowd, the lights, hearing Joe Rogan’s voice in person, it all just kind of added up and got the better of me before I could get it back in control,” he revealed.
Hendricks lost to former title challenger Gonzaga by knockout in the first round of their clash.
Before entering the UFC, the 32-year-old was on a ten-fight winning streak.
