22/10/08 - Tavares vs. Gamburyan at UFC 94
Brazilian lightweight Thiago Tavares has been added to the card for UFC 94, which takes place on January 31st 2009.
He will face Manny Gamburyan, who is 2-1 in the UFC and coming off a knockout loss to Robert Emerson at UFC 87.
Tavares is coming off two losses, with the most recent being a dropped decision to Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 88.
He was dropped twice in the fight - which earned Fight of the Night honours - but says that he will not change his style.
"I will not change the way I fight, I always try to finish the fights with knockout or submission," he revealed.
UFC 94 will be headlined by a long-awaited bout between lightweight boss BJ Penn and welterweight captain Georges St. Pierre.
